Unlock the Power of Mentorship for You and Your Athlete.
The Mental Muscles Mentorship Program connects young athletes and their parents with experienced mentors who have successfully navigated the highs and lows of competitive sports.Â
Whether your athlete needs guidance on confidence, handling pressure, overcoming setbacks, staying motivated, or just someone who is not you (the parent) to talk to, our mentors are here to provide the support and strategies they need to thrive. We also have created a mentorship program to meet the unique needs of parents of athletes (see details below.)
Why Mentorship MattersâŚ
Â
â Struggling with confidence? Get direct support from a mentor who has been in your shoes and understands what it takes to push through self-doubt.
â Feeling overwhelmed by pressure? Learn strategies to stay composed and focused, even in high-stakes situations.
â Bouncing back from mistakes? Discover how to shift your mindset, recover quickly, and keep playing at your best.
â Need someone who âgets itâ? Connect with a mentor who understands the mental battles of being a competitive athlete and will provide guidance tailored to your journey.
â The power of peer mentorship â Learning from an expert is one thing, but having guidance from a slightly older peer who has just been through the same challenges can be even more relatable and impactful.
Â
This mentorship is not a replacement for expert coaching but an addition to my program, providing athletes with a well-rounded support system from both experienced professionals and relatable peers.
Join us!Parent Mentorship: Support for the Toughest Job in SportsâŚ
Â
Youâre doing everything you can to support your athleteâshowing up to games, cheering from the stands, driving to early morning practices, investing in lessons, equipment, and opportunities to help them succeed. But no one really prepares you for the other side of youth sportsâthe mental and emotional rollercoaster that comes with it.
What do you do when your child is in tears after a tough loss? When they start doubting themselves and saying theyâre not good enough? When they suddenly donât seem to love the game the way they used to? What about when theyâre being blamed by teammates, struggling with confidence, not getting enough playing time, or feeling the pressure to perform?
As parents, we want to say the right things. We want to support them in the best way possible. But sometimes, it feels like no matter what we do, we canât quite reach them.
Thatâs where our Parent Mentorship Program comes in.
This isnât about learning how to be their coachâitâs about learning how to be their anchor. Led by parents who have been in your shoes, this mentorship is designed to help you navigate the toughest moments of your childâs sports journey with confidence, clarity, and the right tools to support them mentally and emotionally.
Our Parent Mentors provide:
â Â Real-World Guidance â Learn how to support your athlete when theyâre struggling, whether itâs with confidence, pressure, team dynamics, or setbacks.
â
Proven Strategies â Get the tools to help your athlete develop a resilient mindset, bounce back from mistakes, and stay confident even in the face of adversity.
â
A Judgment-Free Support System â Youâre not alone in this. Connect with mentors who truly get itâbecause theyâve been through it, too.
â
The Missing Piece â Gain insight into the mental side of sports, so you can help your athlete not just perform better, but feel better about their journey.
Â
You donât have to have all the answers. You just need the right support.
Letâs navigate this journey together.

JAKEÂ ROCK
Athlete Mentor
From the suburbs of Chicago, Jake has been an athlete nearly his whole life, playing both hockey and baseball growing up. While his focus shifted to hockey in high school, he continued playing baseball all four years. He spent his junior and senior years playing for the Chicago Young Americans (now Windy City Storm), where he was introduced to the New Jersey 87s.
After high school, Jake moved to New Jersey to play junior hockey for the 87s, winning a championship in his first seasonâthe programâs first in history. During this time, he began working with Danielle, developing mental skills that would impact both his game and his life.
Jake is now a sophomore at Indiana University, where he plays hockey and studies Finance with a minor in Spanish. In his freshman year, he helped IU secure their first-ever National Championship.
Having personally experienced the impact of mindset training, Jake is passionate about helping other athletes develop the tools they need to perform at their best. Heâs excited to be a mentor and guide athletes toward building confidence, resilience, and success both on and off the ice.

REDGEÂ BOURGETTE
Parent Mentor
Born and raised in Alberta, Canada, Redge was a true all-around athlete, competing in just about every sport you can think of. While hockey and wrestling became his primary focusâplaying youth hockey in Calgary and wrestling through high school, college, and beyondâhis experience across multiple sports shaped his approach to coaching and mentorship.
With over 16 years of coaching experience, Redge has worked with athletes at every level of youth hockey, including two seasons at the collegiate level. He also spent three years as the Director of Coaches for the South Coast Sabers and previously served as the Director of Hockey Tech at Glacier Gardens in Anaheim, CA, working with both youth and adult players. His deep understanding of player development, coaching leadership, and the mental side of the game has made him a trusted mentor in the hockey community.
But beyond his coaching career, Redge has lived the youth sports experience as a parent. His daughter, Danielle, played Division I and professional hockey, as well as competitive soccer and softball, while his son played hockey, baseball, water polo, and wrestled. After being recruited by multiple teams in the Canadian Major Junior League, his son ultimately chose to pursue surfing and medicineâgoing on to become a doctor in San Diego.
Having raised two highly competitive athletes, Redge understands the challenges parents face in navigating the sports journey. He knows firsthand what it takes to support athletes in their developmentâboth on and off the iceâwhile also fostering confidence, resilience, and a love for the game. His experience as an athlete, coach, and parent gives him a unique perspective in guiding families through the highs and lows of youth sports.
